Stoneware Classes
Looking for a new craft that’s not another knitting or adult coloring book? Adults who need to get out of the house and learn to work with a physical medium should try stoneware! This type of pottery is different than our typical Low Fire earthenware pottery. Stoneware is a midrange fire (it gets much hotter!) and therefore has some very uniquely different qualities to it! Unlike our earthenware, stoneware, when done correctly, is Microwave SAFE, Dishwasher SAFE, and even Oven SAFE! Therefore, your unique creation will not only be beautiful, they are durable, and made to last!
Leave With a Piece as Stunning and Unique As You Are
Hands to Art offers a welcoming, guided experience where anyone can succeed. Unlike many other studios, we emphasize that stoneware’s magic lies in the glaze itself, making it easy and fun. You’ll learn, create, and leave feeling inspired.
Stoneware Peacock Bowl Class
Pricing: $15 deposit (applied toward the bowl you choose at the event); bowls range from $25-$75
Timeline: 2.5-hour class; please allow up to 1 week for pickup
Ages: 13 and up!
This guided class will teach you everything you need to know to create a stunning peacock-inspired bowl. You’ll learn the difference between earthenware and stoneware, how stoneware fires at higher temperatures, and how glazes transform in that intense heat. You’ll apply your glaze, and when you return, you’ll be amazed by the one-of-a-kind results—no two bowls will ever be the same!
This class isn’t just about painting pottery; it’s about learning the art of stoneware. Stoneware is durable, functional, and stunning, making it perfect for everyday use or display. The beauty of stoneware is that it doesn’t require artistic perfection—glazes naturally create unique patterns, so even if you think you’re not creative, you’ll walk away with something amazing.
